Sheet metal stamping is the process of shaping and coiling metal into different shapes through thinning process. Before a metal is made into these shapes, it is imperative to understand that the only types of metals that can be stamped are steel, copper, brass, titanium, aluminum, nickel and tin amongst others. Sheet metal stamping is done by passing the metals through a roll slitter and dipped into a die for perfect finishing. The processing includes punching, embossing, bending and blanking amongst many other processes. The final product of these metals is all around us. They can be seen in car bodies, airplanes (wings), hospital tables, medical equipments, hospital beds, bridges and even jewelry amongst many unnamed others.

Japan, one of the worlds most advanced auto makers have invested heavily in the process of metal stamping. The process needs a lot of precision, care and above-all high quality products. Coining involves the process of putting the metal under high stress of heat in-order to have a uniform surface and size. Even though Japan is considered the largest metal processor, they import most of the raw material from China, Australia and Brazil. Amongst the natural resources that can be found in plenty in Japan is known. It is also one of the countries where pure gold is mined. Japan also gets their raw material from used or discarded mobiles phones and computers. But, this they get in very low numbers.
All metal processing companies in Japan are registered under Japan Iron & Steel Federation Company. This is so that sub-standards goods do not find their way into the market forcing a highly controlled sector. Japan earns a lot of income from the metal processing than any other sector or economy. This has been advanced by the increase in technology and their advance economic sector. Japan has been one of the countries that have gone through one of the worlds worst natural catastrophes. This did interfere with the metal processing sector but not for long. Japan is currently considered amongst the top three leaders in metal stamping. In a few years time, manual drawing will be a thing of the past as metal stamping accuracy cannot be underrated.
